Mark Jackson

Mark Jackson is a Principal Lawyer within the firm, specialising in all aspects of Criminal Defence work with over 30 years’ experience.

Having worked for previous companies, Mark set up the Computer Crime Unit of a large national firm, whereby all aspects of computer related fraud was defended against prosecutions brought by the Crown Prosecution Service, the Federation against copyright theft, the Federation against software theft, and matters brought by the music and television industries.

More recently, Mark has focused upon a wide range of criminal matters, dealing with high end drugs investigations, national and international fraud cases, together with other serious offences of dishonesty and violence.

Mark has led a team of staff for many years, working on high end multi-handed conspiracies from commencement involving interviews at the police station through to conclusions at the Crown Court and thereafter Proceeds of Crime investigations.

Notable Cases

R-v- E & Others – Representing 2 defendants in the first ever prosecution of the National High-tech Crime Unit, whereby individuals in the United Kingdom were said to be part of a global hacking group responsible for hundreds of millions of pounds worth of loss in revenue to software companies.

Fact -v- J – Federation against copyright theft, prosecution against individuals involved in the online viewing of unsubscribed television channels, on a national basis, incorporating the use of multiple computer servers with evidence spanning multiple terabytes.

R-v-G – International money laundering and fraud conspiracy, said to have cost customers multiple millions in lost revenue.

R-v-D & Others – Multi-handed conspiracy to commit advertising fraud.

R-v-M & Others – Multi-handed conspiracy to defraud banks and building societies of revenue by the use of illegally obtained credit card identities and details.
